Painting Pets for Marc Jacobs

In May, I had the pleasure of working with Marc Jacobs again as part of their international #BarkJacobs campaign — painting pet portraits directly onto customers’ leather handbags at their Regent Street store in London.

What started as a one-day event for International Pets Day in London in 2024, had such demand that it was extended internationally. The #barkjacobs campaign is the international incarnation across the US, UK and Japan. As a London illustrator specialising in leather painting, it was great to see how some of the other artists across the globe responded to the brief.

I personalised around 10 bags a day, some with multiple pets, using leather-safe paints and reference photos provided by customers. Many of the dogs even came into the store to collect their custom bags in person. Have a look at some of these cute pics.

What a treat! A dream combination of illustration, fashion, and fluffy clients.
