Behind the scenes I’ve been working on a personal project. I wanted to experiment with compositions for book covers. The core illustration style is the same, but with a slightly different flavour. I’ve added secondary flowing lines which support the main illustration, adding decoration, placing it within context, or adding movement and improving composition.

Just as normal, I’ve hand painted all of the elements and tweaked their colours and layout in Photoshop to get them just the way I want them.
