Last week I completed a large-scale window painting in London for the National Theatre’s Connections Festival, a brilliant programme of youth theatre across the UK.
The National Theatre wanted to mark the occasion with visuals but without using vinyl decals, which are restricted due to sustainability policies. Instead, this hand-painted window mural was created using recycled paint, rescued from landfill through the Forest Recycling Project.
Spanning windows ~7 metres high, this project was one of the biggest I've tackled. It took two full days to install, involving scaffolding, a genie lift, and a lot of coordination. Massive thanks to my assistant Jenni Fearn for helping me with this and the amazing stage production team at the NT.
If you're looking for window painting in London or surrounding areas, this project is a great example of what’s possible using sustainable materials and hand-painted techniques.
Graphics designed by the National Theatre, painted and installed by me.
