I have worked with Daler Rowney for several years as a watercolour ambassador. It’s a great collaboration, as I have no hesitation in supporting and recommending their product. Daler Rowney’s Aquafine watercolour range offers vibrant colour and professional consistency AND it’s a heritage brand that’s still made in Britain. They’ve become a trusted part of my studio practice.
Daler Rowney supports me with materials across their umbrella brand, Fila, and in-turn I give them feedback on my needs and wants as a working artist. I support product testing and deliver demonstrations to their clients, using their Aquafine watercolours and brushes.
Last week I had a real Willie Wonka experience, as I was invited to visit the Daler Rowney factory in Bracknell, which was an exciting opportunity to see how their paints are produced here in the UK.
The tour offered a fascinating insight into the craftsmanship behind their materials, from pigment preparation to detailed quality testing and sustainability processes. Seeing the level of care and precision involved gave me even greater appreciation for the paints I use daily in my illustration work.
Sometimes I forget how much experience and knowledge I have as a watercolourist, and teaching can be quite reassuring for me. I’m keen to do some more painting workshop, so in 2026 I’ll be working on offering workshops for brands and creative events across London.
x, Willa
